Pakistani artists in India are not a new trend as many believe, it has been existing ever since the partition took place. Despite sharing a strained relationship with our neighbouring country Pakistan Bollywood has often borrowed talent from them in the form of singers, musicians, actors, and actresses. Before the Pakistani actors in the Bollywood ban came into existence a good number of actors and actors had already bagged big projects in which they had a prominent role to play. Quite a few old Pakistani actors in Bollywood too managed to make a mark with their performances in the 80s and 90s which many of us may not remember. Let’s go down memory lane and check out the famous Pakistani actors who have acted in Bollywood films.
1. Mohammad Ali
One of the oldest Pakistani actors in Bollywood was Mohammad Ali who played a prominent role in Manoj Kumar’s Clerk (1989). Mohammad Ali was known as the ‘Emperor of Emotions’ who is remembered for his versatile performances in romantic and historical Pakistani movies including Khamosh Raho, Kaneez, Aag Ka Darya, Insaan Aur Aadmi, and Doorian.
2. Mohsin Khan
Former Pakistani cricketer Mohsin Khan too tried his luck in Bollywood films. After getting married to Bollywood actress Reena Roy, he made his acting debut in director J.P. Dutta’s Batwara in 1989 and later followed it up with playing second male leads in popular movies like Saathi, MadamX, Gunehgaar, Pratikaar, etc.
3. Jawed Sheikh
Jawed Sheikh is one of the top 10 Pakistani actors in Bollywood who appeared in most films. The ex-husband of actress Salma Agha, Jawed Sheikh is a well-known TV and film actor, producer, and director who made his acting debut in the Lollywood film Dhamaka in 1974. In 2005 he ventured into Bollywood films and marked his debut in Shikhar and went on to do supporting roles in Tamasha, Hum Tum Aur Ghost, Jannat, Om Shanti Om, Namastey London, Dus, Apne, Yuvvraaj, Kajraare, Happy Bhag Jayegi, etc.
4. Alyy Khan
One of the most prominent Pakistani actors in Bollywood films happens to be Alyy Khan who has worked in Hollywood, Bollywood, and Lollywood films and television series. As far as Bollywood is concerned, he has appeared in films such as Don 2, Luck By Chance, Nazar, Stumped, Escape From Taliban, and The Archies, etc.
5. Moammar Rana
Moammar Rana is another prominent Pakistani actor and director who is known for his various Pakistani movies and television soap operas. He appeared in two Bollywood films namely - Dobara (2004) and Ek Second... Jo Zindagi Badal De? (2010).
6. Humayun Saeed
Humayun Saeed is a well-known actor and producer who has acted as well as produced many television drama serials and commercial movies back home in Pakistan. He has acted in a handful of Bollywood movies including - Zinda, Woh Lamhe..., Kismat Konnection, and Jashnn: The Music Within.
7. Salman Shahid
Talk about famous Pakistani actors in Bollywood and we have the very talented Salman Shahid’s name on the list. The Pakistani film, theatre, television, and voice actor has appeared in Bollywood films such as Kabul Express (2006), Ishqiya (2010), and Dedh Ishqiya (2014).
8. Rasheed Naz
The Maulana from the Akshay Kumar action – thriller Baby played by Rasheed Naz was one of the most memorable roles you’ll get to see on screen. The versatile actor who started his television career in 1971 in a Pashto television play is remembered for appearing in the famous Pakistani film Khuda Ke Liye (2007) and his solo Bollywood movie, Baby in 2015.
9. Adeel Chaudhry
Adeel Chaudhry is one of the lesser-known Pakistani actors who had a short stint in Bollywood films. The only two Bollywood films in which he acted were - Bhaangarh (2014) and Rhythm (2016).
10. Fawad Khan
If Pakistani actresses in Bollywood weren’t enough then Fawad Khan would’ve easily ended up giving our Bollywood stars a run for their money. Fawad was considered one of the most elegant and good-looking Pakistani stars in Bollywood where he left his mark in films like Khoobsurat (2014), Kapoor & Sons (2016), and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016).
11. Ali Zafar
Ali Zafar was arguably one of the best male Pakistani actors in Bollywood who donned many hats that of a singer-songwriter, actor, model, producer, screenwriter, and painter. He made his acting debut with a leading role in Tere Bin Laden (2010), and subsequently worked in several films, including Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, London, Paris, New York, Chashme Baddoor, and Dear Zindagi, etc.
12. Imran Abbas Naqvi
Best known for his roles in Pakistani television serials like Dil-e-Muztar (2013), Alvida (2015), Mera Naam Yousuf Hai (2015), Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai (2017), and Koi Chand Rakh (2018), Imran Abbas made his Bollywood debut in 2014 in Vikram Bhatt's horror thriller Creature 3D opposite Bipasha Basu and later appeared in Muzaffar Ali’s Jaanisaar (2015) and Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016).
13. Mikaal Zulfiqar
Mention Pakistani actors in Bollywood and you have the name of the very good-looking Mikaal Zulfiqar. Mikaal is a film as well as television actor who appeared in Lollywood movies such as Cake (2018), Na Band Na Baraati (2018) and Sherdil (2019). He made his Bollywood acting debut in 2007 with the Bollywood crime thriller film Godfather starring Vinod Khanna, Shoot on Sight (2008), U R My Jaan (2011), and Baby (2015).
14. Adnan Siddiqui
Actor, producer, and model Adnan Siddiqui happens to be one of the unique Pakistani male actors who has worked in Lollywood, Hollywood, and Bollywood as well. He appeared in his only Bollywood film opposite Sridevi in Mom (2017) which also happened to be Pakistani actress Sajal Ali’s solo Bollywood release.
