If you can recall the opening credit scores of the following movies, you’ll find that they are the same as those used by different filmmakers over the years. We’ve given below a list of 18 such Hindi films that were copied from the title music of mood right from the start. Popular in the ‘70s, '80s, and '90s, these scores became an economical choice for filmmakers, helping them create drama, suspense, or romance without extensive production. From romantic tunes to dramatic orchestral swells, these recurring themes became iconic, and many Bollywood fans can instantly recognize them, recalling memories of classic films and iconic actors, adding charm and continuity to the viewing experience.

One such opening credit background score used in umpteen Bollywood movies is the one created by music director Sachin Dev Burman's assistant Pandit Shanti Swaroop Mishra (also known as Master Vihag aka Kalyaan Mishra aka Swaroop Mishra). The story goes that S.D. Burman had composed and kept this piece of music in his music bank and later passed it on to his son Rahul Dev Burman, who used it in various opening credit titles starting from Yash Chopra’s Dev Anand starrer Joshila in 1973 and later in the blockbuster Deewaar in 1975, respectively. Interestingly, this piece of music was used in the many introductory movie credit titles, but the songs of respective films were by different music directors.
