Abbas is a former Indian actor who has predominantly worked in Tamil and Telugu films, and a few Hindi films too. He was already an established actor of South when he appeared in the historical crime drama Hey Ram (2000), directed and produced by Kamal Haasan. Other Bollywood films featuring him include Ansh (2002), Zinda Dil (2003), Woh Lamhe (2006), etc. He married fashion designer Erum Ali in 1997, and the couple has 2 children.
