Bharat Bhushan was an Indian actor, scriptwriter and producer. After graduating, he first went to Calcutta and later to Bombay, to establish himself as an actor. He made his screen debut with Kidar Sharma’s super hit film Chitralekha (1941). Important movies of his career include Baiju Bawra (1952), Anand Math (1952), Basant Bihar (1956), Gateway of India (1957), Phagun (1958), Barsaat Ki Raat (1960), Jahan Ara (1964), etc. In 1967, he married television and film actress Ratna, and the couple had two children, Anuradha Bhushan and Aparajit Bhushan.
