Chittor V. Nagaiah was an Indian actor, composer, playback singer, director and producer. He had primarily worked in Tamil and Telugu films. He started his career with the 1938 Telugu film Gruhlakshmi, which was followed by his series of Telugu films. He has also acted in Bollywood films like Meera (1945), and Ladki (1953). In 1965, he was honoured with Padma Shri by the Government of India for his contributions to Indian cinema.
