Debashree Roy is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, and politician, who has appeared in more than a hundred films. She is known for her work in Bengali and Hindi cinema. She started her acting career in Bollywood with Kuldeep Pandey’s Ghata (1978). It was followed by her roles in movies like Jiyo To Aise Jiyo (1981), Justice Chaudhary (1983), Seepeeyan (1984), Kabhie Ajnabi The (1985), Kaal Sandhya (1997), Swami Vivekananda (1998), and Hindustani Sipahi (2002). In 1992, she married actor-director Prosenjit Chatterjee but they separated in 1995.
