Farogh Siddique was one of Bollywood's most cherished action entertainer directors of the 1990s, who entered the film industry as a writer and later made his directorial debut in 1992 with the Ajay Devgn – Karisma Kapoor action thriller ‘Jigar’. He was more than just a director whose name resonated with an entire generation of moviegoers who grew up on the adrenaline-fuelled, commercially charged cinema of the 1990s—an era when Bollywood was discovering its voice in mass entertainment through larger-than-life heroes and high-octane drama. His other films included ‘Vijaypath’ (1994), ‘The Don’ (1995), ‘Vishwa Vidhaata’ (1997), ‘Kahani Kismat Ki’ (1999), and ‘Revati’ (2005). He died on 19 June 2026.
