Geeta Bali was a famous Indian actress of the 1940s, 1950s and early 1960s. She started her acting career in Bollywood at the age of 12 and as a child artist, she made her debut in the 1942 film The Cobbler. As an adult, she made her debut in the 1946 film Badnaami. The important movies of her career are Bawre Nain (1950), Albela (1951), Anand Math (1952), Baaz (1953), Vachan (1955), Jailor (1958), Mr. India (1961), etc. She married actor Shammi Kapoor and the couple had two children including actor Aditya Raj Kapoor and Kanchan Kapoor. In 1965, she died due to smallpox when she was still at the top of her career.
