Gohar Mamajiwala, also known as Miss Gohar, was a famous Indian actress, singer and producer. Gohar’s family started facing financial problems after her father’s failed business. To help her family with the funds, Gohar started her acting career at the age of 16 with the film Baap Kamai (1926), directed by Kanjibhai Rathod. The film was a super hit and started her successful acting career. She appeared in several blockbusters like Pati Patni (1929), Dev Devayani (1931), Radha Rani (1932), Keemti Aansoo (1935), Barrister’s Wife (1935) and many more. She married famous director and producer Chandulal Shah and in 1929, she founded a film production house, Ranjit Studios along with her husband.
