Jyoti Chandekar was an actress whose career spanned over five-decades and acted in several Marathi dramas, films, and television shows. Remembered mostly for her performance as ‘Sindhutai’s mother in the 2010 Marathi movie Sindhutai Sapkal and as Poorna Aji in the popular Marathi TV serial Tharala Tar Mag, Jyoti Chandekar began her acting career at the age of 12 and later as a supporting role in Kedar Shinde's Aga Bai Arrecha! She also well-known for her roles in Ticha Umbartha (2016), Deva Ek Atrangi (2017) and Guru (2016). She appeared in a couple of Hindi movies namely - Ek Nazar (1972) and Bandhan Pheron Ke (1985).
