K. D. Shorey was an active film producer, actor, director and writer in the 1970s and 80s in Bollywood. He started his career in 1975 by producing and acting in the multi-starrer Umar Qaid which was followed by the Rishi Kapoor – Neetu Singh starrer Zinda Dil in the same year which was also directed by Sikandar Khanna. He had also produced Be-Reham (1980), Bad Aur Badnaam (1984) while produced and directed Maha-Yuddh (1998) which was the debut film of his elder son Lokesh Shorey. His younger son is actor Ranvir Shorey. The veteran filmmaker breathed his last in Mumbai on 16 September 2022.
