M. Saravanan was a Tamil, Telugu and Hindi movie producer and the owner of the legendary AVM studio in Chennai founded by his late father A.V. Meiyappan. After his father’s death, M. Saravanan diversified the production house by producing several notable Tamil cinema hits, including Naanum Oru Penn, Murattu Kaalai, Sakalakala Vallavan, Uyarndh Ullam, Manithan, Samsaram Adhu Minsaram, Minsara Kanavu, Sivaji: The Boss, and Ayan. He also produced Hindi films including Main Bhi Ladki Hoon (1964), Do Kaliyan (1968), Jaise Ko Taisa (1973), Jeevan Jyoti (1976) and Jeene Ki Arzoo (1981). He passed away due to age-related illness issues on 04 December 2025 in Chennai at the age of 86.
