Nalini Jaywant, an Indian actress, was a leading lady in Indian cinema in the 1940s and 1950s. She was the first cousin of actress Shobhna Samarth. She started her acting career in Bollywood at the young age of 15 or 16 and appeared in movies like Bahen (1941), Anokha Pyar (1948), Samadhi (1950), Sangram (1950), Rahi (1953), Railway Platform (1955), Nastik (1954), Munimji (1955) and Hum Sab Chor Hain (1956). She has acted in several movies alongside Ashok Kumar like Jalpari (1952), Saloni (1952), Naaz (1954), Mr. X (1957), etc. In 1945, she married film director Virendra Desai, but the couple got divorced in 1948. She then married actor Prabhu Dayal in 1960.
