Nandita Das is an Indian actress and director who has acted in over 40 films in ten different languages. She started her acting career in Bollywood with 1947 Earth (1998) which earned her Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. It was followed by her other important movies like Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998), Hari-Bhari (2000), Bawandar (2000), Ek Alag Mausam (2003), I Am (2011) and Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata Hai? (2019). She has directed movies like Firaaq (2008), In Defence of Freedom (2017) and Manto (2018). In 2002, she married Saumya Sen but they parted ways in 2007, later she married an industrialist, Subodh Maskara in 2010 and they have a son named Vihaan. In 2017, the couple announced their divorce.
