Rono Mukherjee was a director and composer who was well-known in Hindi film industry and belonged to the Mukherjee family. Rono Mukherjee was the son of founder of Filmalaya studios, Sashadhar Mukherjee. His four brothers were Joy Mukherjee, Deb Mukherjee, Shomu Mukherjee and Shubir Mukherjee who were prominent personalities in Bollywood. He directed only two films which were ‘Tu Hi Meri Zindagi’ (1965) and ‘Haiwan’ (1977). His daughter is actress Sharbani Mukherjee. He passed away in Mumbai on 28 May 2025 at the age of 83.
