Ruma Guha Thakurta is an Indian actress and singer, who predominantly worked in Bengali and Hindi films. Founder of Calcutta Youth Choir, Ruma started her career as an actress in the 1944 black and white film Jwar Bhata. She was later seen in movies like Mashaal (1950), Afsar (1950), Rag Rang (1952), Bairaag (1976) and many more. She was married to legendary Bollywood playback singer Kishore Kumar and is the mother of playback singer Amit Kumar.
