Roopa Ganguly is an Indian actress, playback singer, and politician. She started her acting career with Bijoy Chatterjee’s short film Nirupama (1986). She then made her Bollywood debut with Mrinal Sen’s Ek Din Achanak (1989), which was followed by her other important movies like Bahaar Aane Tak (1990), Pyar Ka Devta (1991), Saugandh (1991), Virodhi (1992), and Barfi! (2012). She was married to a mechanical engineer, Dhrubo Mukherjee from 1992 to 2007, and they have a son, Aakash Mukherjee.
