Assamese-born singer and actress Sagarika Mukherjee has mainly sung songs in Hindi, Assamese and Bengali. Daughter of singer and composer Manas Mukherjee, Sagarika made her debut as a child playback singer in the 1979 film Shaayad. She started her acting career with the 1986 Bengali film Shyam Saheb. In Bollywood, she made her acting debut with the 2004 film Inteqam: The Perfect Game, which was followed by her role in the movies like Page 3 (2005) and Life in a… Metro (2007). She has recorded songs for several movies, including Bhopal Express (1999), Nidaan (2000), Page 3 (2005), etc. She is the sister of Bollywood playback singer Shantanu Mukherjee and is married to UK-Italian businessman and event manager, Martin Da Costa, with whom she has two sons.
