Aliya Basu Gayab Hai revolves around ex-convicts Deepak Kumar (Vinay Pathak) and Vikram Singh (Salim Diwan) who abduct Aliya Basu (Raima Sen), a rich industrialist Gautam Basu's daughter for a huge ransom. But, Vikram is unaware that Deepak has a different plan up his sleeve. But, Alia is no less, as she asks for help from her father in a way that can help her too. When the ransom money does not come, the kidnappers lose their cool. They have a plan to sell Alia in pieces. But Alia’s mind also works wonders. She makes a plan to woo Salim Diwan and instigate a fight between the two kidnappers with her smart moves. What happens next forms the remaining part of this suspenseful crime thriller.
