Anek is a political action thriller set against the geopolitical backdrop of North East India. It is based on the political conflicts of North East India that narrates the untold story of an undercover cop Joshua (Ayushmann Khurrana) who is sent on an assignment to the region where some separatist groups have become active and playing havoc on the system there. One such separatist group is the Tiger Sanga group that has become a rebellion and an uprising group for which Joshua is trying to set up a peace talk between the former and the Indian government. How Joshua gets to know the real face of the situation and tries to come to terms with separatist group amid political agenda is what the remaining plot is all about.
