Apne is a sports drama that follows the story of former Olympic medallist boxer Baldev Choudhary (Dharmendra). Baldev was falsely accused of drug doping while competing for the World Heavy championship. To bring back the honour, he decides to train his elder son, Angad (Sunny Deol) but has to give up because of financial difficulties. His younger son, Karan (Bobby Deol), a musician, realizes his father’s sorrow and decides to give up his musical career to become a boxer and participate in the World Heavyweight championship. However, he is injured and ends up in a hospital bed. When Karan reveals that he was tricked, Angad decides to return to the boxing ring to fulfill his father’s dream.
