Daanveer, a notoriously miserly yet sharp-witted man, repeatedly outsmarts a scheming uncle-nephew duo who try to deceive him, eventually earning their grudging respect. When a priest asks him for a donation, Daanveer goes to the extreme of faking his own death to escape paying—only to discover the priest is Lord Shiva in disguise. Impressed by his cleverness, Shiva forgives him, cures him of his miserliness, and sets him on a new path. Redeemed, Daanveer saves his wife, resolves to use his wealth for good, and dedicates his life to charity.
