Chameli is a social drama film. The movie follows the story of Aman (Rahul Bose), a wealthy investment banker, and Chameli (Kareena Kapoor), a prostitute. The two accidentally meet during a downpour, while taking shelter from the rain. The incidents of the night develop a rare friendship between the two. Despite having nothing in common, they bond well and talk about life. Aman further pays off Chameli’s debt that she took from her pimp. Aman also tells Chameli about how his wife died and breaks down while telling her about her accident. How the eventful night alters their outlook in life forms the climax of the movie.
