Chhatriwali is a social comedy-drama that revolves around Sanya (Rakul Preet Singh) a young girl who makes a living by giving tuition in the subject of Chemistry. What she earns from tuition isn't enough to run the household so she decides to take up the job of a quality head in a condom production company. She meets a local boy named Rishi Kalra (Sumeet Vyas) whom she falls in love with and later marries. She continues her job after marriage without disclosing the product she deals with. One day her family members come to know about her job and instruct her to leave it. But Sanya realizes how important it is to educate students about sex education and thus, makes up her mind to use her knowledge to help young minds move beyond the taboos of sex with the right education. She also takes up the responsibility of driving home a strong social message on the importance of male contraceptives and safe sex in order to make society a healthier and better place to stay and battle serious negative pressures.
