CTRL is a cyberthriller film that revolves around popular internet couple Nella Awasthi (Ananya Panday) and Joe Mascarenhas (Vihaan Samat) who have gained a vast viewership by sharing their personal lives online. Things take a dramatic turn when they go through a breakup while Nella is heartbroken and wants someone to take control of her life, which is when she turns towards the dark side of social media. Nella suddenly finds herself sharing her personal life with others and losing out on her privacy. How she deals with all this by exploring the intricacies of life in cyberspace and the price she pays for oversharing in the data-ruled world forms the remaining part of the plot.
