Cuttputlli is a psychological crime thriller and a remake of the Tamil hit film ‘Ratsasan’ that revolves around Arjan Sethi (Akshay Kumar) a cop who once had aspirations of becoming a film director but due to family pressure joins the police force. Arjan is called to Kasauli where a series of child abduction and murders take place without any clue left behind. Arjan is on a mission to track down and expose the child abduction racket in the city after following the clues that only he can think of. Arjan uses all his experience and imagination along with his team of policemen who try to hunt down the serial killer. He adopts a number of different strategies before he nabs the real criminal and ends up making a film using a similar theme.
