Dard Ka Rishta is a romantic family drama that follows the story of a doctor, Ravi Kant (Sunil Dutt), who is a single parent to his daughter. He happily lives with his daughter; however, their life suddenly takes a turn, when Ravi learns that his daughter is suffering from leukemia and has very little time. It is then, Ravi travels to New York to get his daughter the best treatment. However, in New York he meets his ex-wife, Dr. Anuradha (Smita Patil), who is a cancer specialist. Will the situations in their lives bring the two ex-lovers back together?
