Diksha is a social drama. The movie is set in the 1930s, and follows the story of a Brahmin guru, who lives with his widowed daughter. Things take a turn when the guru’s daughter gets pregnant and her lover denies the child, and so she is forced to abort the child. Later, her father pronounces her dead and performs her last riots while she is still alive, thus depriving her of all worldly relations. How the Brahmin faces the praises and revolts simultaneously from different groups of people, and how this action of the Brahmin affects the life of others forms the rest of the plot.
