Doordarshan is a slice of life comedy-drama of a north Indian middle-class family that is stuck between two eras that of the 80s and the present. The story revolves around a dysfunctional family who fights over trivial matters and daily household chores but is still one for they have an ailing mother who went into a coma in the 80s and recovers from it. In order to see the mother’s smooth recovery, the members of the family try to create an era of the 80s when she went into a coma and the channel of Doordarshan on TV, which was the only channel available those days. In creating a bygone era a load of lies is told to impress the old woman, which leads to hilarious situations.
