Fruit and Nut is a comedy-drama that revolves around Monica Gokhale (Dia Mirza) who works for Bombay Heritage and plans to restore the old buildings of the city. Maharaja Harry Holkar (Boman Irani) is against her plans and kidnaps her, but she is rescued by a Mumbai municipal employee, Jolly Maker (Cyrus Broacha) who falls in love with her. However, Maharaja Harry Holkar has bigger plans, he recruits scientist Vishwas Atmavishwas Pinakin (Rajit Kapoor) to bomb the heritage buildings. Will Monica succeed in stopping the crook from destroying the city?
