Gaslight is a murder mystery suspense thriller that revolves around a young paraplegic woman confined to a wheelchair, Meesha (Sara Ali Khan), who returns to her family’s royal Mayagarh palace after 15 years after receiving a letter from her father, Raja Ratan Singh Gaikwad. Meesha has a traumatic past involving her mother, Gayathri. Her father, Ratan Singh Gaikwad, is now married to Rukmini (Chitrangda Singh) who tells Meesha that he’s away on a business trip. Meesha goes around exploring the creepy-looking mysterious palace which is looked after by Kapil (Vikrant Massey), who has been employed by Raja Saheb. After a series of strange experiences, Meesha realizes that something terrible has happened to her father. Kapil helps Meesha in her quest for truth as doubts unravel some dark secrets involving Rukmini, Superintendent of Police Ashok Tanwar (Rahul Dev), and Rana Jai Singh (Akshay Oberoi). Despite repeated threats, warnings, and purported paranormal experiences, Meesha goes all out to find the secret behind her father's disappearance and possible murder.
