Gulaal is a political drama that is set in the fictional town of Rajpur. It revolves around a law student, Dilip (Raj Singh Chaudhary), who is assaulted by a gang of university thugs led by Jadhwal (Pankaj Jha). To avenge the humiliation, Dilip takes the help of Dukey Banna (Kay Kay Menon), who promises him protection from Jadhwal. Dilip contests the General Secretariat elections and defeats Kiran (Ayesha Mohan). He gets into a relationship with Kiran and soon learns that she was just using him. In no time, Dilip realizes that in the quest for revenge he has been entangled in the world of politics.
