Gulabo Sitabo is a social drama set in Lucknow where Mirza Chunnan Nawab (Amitabh Bachchan) a stingy old man stays in an old dilapidated mansion owned by his wife Fatima Begum (Farrukh Jaffar) who is 17 years elder to the former. The mansion also houses Baankey Rastogi (Ayushmann Khurrana) a tenant who hasn’t paid the rent for a while and is always at loggerheads with Mirza. One fine day the officials of the archaeology department realize the historic value of the mansion and plan to seize it after getting it vacated by the residents. Thus, begins planning with every member who tries to seize the property papers on their name to get the maximum share but who will succeed forms the interesting part of this simple story.
