Halkaa is the story of a 10-year-old boy named Pichku who stays with his parents in a slum area of New Delhi. Pichku is a rag picker who dislikes passing motions in the open in front of others but prefers to do it in his home despite no toilets. Pichku gets caught one day red-handed by his father while relieving himself at home after which he promises to build a toilet for his family by working day and night and saving money.
