Hathyar is an action crime drama. The movie follows the story of a young man named Avinash (Sanjay Dutt), who relocates to Bombay with his parents. However, they live a miserable life due to poverty. Avinash’s father cannot deal with their poor situation and soon after commits suicide, leaving Avinash with the responsibility of his family. The unemployment and poverty forces Avinash to take the path of crime, and he soon joins the gang of underworld don Khushal Khan (Dharmendra) and his brother Samiulla Khan (Rishi Kapoor). He starts with petty crimes but soon gets bogged into the spiral of crimes. Will Avinash be able to get himself out of the marsh of crime and mend his ways?
