Jaal is an action thriller romantic drama. The movie follows the story of a young man named Shankar (Mithun Chakraborty), who lives a poor lifestyle with his mother in a village, after his father left them for another woman named Meenabai (Rekha). Growing up, Shankar becomes the love interest of two women - wealthy girl Sunita (Moon Moon Sen) and poor but pretty girl Madhu (Mandakini). However, Shankar is not interested in love yet. He is hired by an anonymous woman named Amita, who wants him to spy on Sunita’s father Bhanu Pratap (Amrit Pal); however, his spy leads him to the truth about his father, who is dead now. However, his investigation leads him to new information about his father and the woman with whom he was. Will Shankar be able to learn the entire truth about his father and Meenabai?
