Jaane Jaan is a suspense thriller that revolves around Maya D’Souza (Kareena Kapoor Khan) who stays in Kalimpong, West Bengal along with her school-going teenage daughter and runs a cafe. Maya who was once known by the name of Soniya, a nightclub dancer was the wife to Ajit (Saurabh Sachdeva), an abusive, money-grubbing cop. Maya had left him 14 years ago and escaped to Kalimpong along with her infant daughter. One day, out of the blue, Ajit turns up at Maya’s café and later barges into her house which escalates into a messy scuffle that results in the former's death. Not knowing what to do with the body Maya’s neighbour Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat), a mathematics teacher by profession helps her to get rid of the dead body. A day later a cop by the name of Karan Anand (Vijay Varma) knocks at Maya’s door asking about Ajit. What happens next, does Maya surrender herself to protect her daughter or lie to the police?
