Jayeshbhai Jordaar is a social comedy-drama set in a small-town village of Gujarat where Jayeshbhai Patel (Ranveer Singh) stays in a joint family with his wife Mudra Patel (Shalini Pandey), daughter Nisha Patel (Jia Vidya) and his parents Ramlal Patel (Boman Irani) and Anuradha Patel (Ratna Pathak Shah). Ramlal being the sarpanch of the community announces his son Jayesh as his successor and wants that after bearing a daughter the second one should be a son to carry on with the legacy of succeeding his father as the next sarpanch. Ramlal gets to know that Jayesh and Mudra’s next is also a daughter and orders to abort it. But Jayesh and Mudra think otherwise and decide to fight against the old-fashioned societal norms and see that equal rights are given to males and females in their society.
