Joram is an intriguing tale of Dasru Kerketta (Manoj Bajpayee) who was part of a Naxalite organization in a tribal village in Jharkhand runs away after witnessing daily violence. Intolerant of what is happening around him he migrates to Mumbai along with his wife Vaano (Tannishtha Chatterjee) and three-month-old daughter Joram to take up a job as a construction worker in Mumbai to lead a violence-free life from the harsh reality of his village. A chance encounter with a woman from his village unleashes another wave of violence that leads to his wife getting killed under mysterious circumstances which brands him as a terrorist by the media. To evade the police, he's on the run and reaches his village in Jharkhand with his infant daughter only to find that he isn't safe there as well. Meanwhile, Inspector Ratnakar (Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub), of the Mumbai police, who is after Dasru is dispatched to Jharkhand. While the cops have been ordered to shoot Dasru on sight, Ratnakar wants to capture him alive. What happens next forms the remaining part of the plot.
