Kaagaz Ke Fools is a comedy-drama. It follows the story of Purushottam Tripathi (Vinay Pathak), an aspiring writer. Purushottam is tired of his nagging wife Nikki (Mughda Godse), who wants him to be successful. Due to their sour relationship and constant fights, he decides to leave the house. He then encounters a prostitute named Rubina (Raima Sen) and an unusual friendship develops between the two. Purushottam slowly falls in love with Rubina, who becomes the inspiration for his novel.
