Kaarnaama is an action drama. The movie follows the story of a private horse trainer Suraj (Vinod Khanna), whose only best friend is his horse Chetak. Suraj is very close to his horse and spends most of his time with him and trains him for the races. Chetak goes on to win a number of races, which becomes a concern for a crooked millionaire Rana (Amrish Puri). He plans to get Suraj and Chetak killed, and clear his way. Will Suraj learn about Rana’s evil plans and save himself and his horse?
