Khichdi: The Movie is a family comedy-drama that is based on the TV franchise Khichdi. The movie revolves around a Gujarati family consisting of Tulsidas Parekh aka Babuji – head of the house, Praful – Tulsidas’ elder son, Hansa – Praful’s wife, Himanshu – Hansa’s brother, Jayshree – Tulsidas’ younger son’s widow, Chacky – Praful and Hansa’s daughter and Jacky – Jayshree’s son. Himanshu is getting married to Parminder, but on the day of the wedding, he realizes that his wedding is not a legendary one as it misses the thrill and adventure. To make Himanshu’s dream of having a legendary wedding come true, the family sets out to do all possible things to make Himanshu’s love memorable.
