Earlier titled Laxmmi Bomb, Laxmii is the Hindi remake of the 2011 Tamil hit film 'Muni 2: Kanchana', which revolves around the tribulations of Aasif (Akshay Kumar) who visits his in-laws place along with his wife Rashmi (Kiara Advani) for the first time. The plot near his in-law’s house is haunted as he gets possessed by a transgender's spirit by the name of Laxmii (Sharad Kelkar) who lies buried under the plot. After a few twists and turns, it is revealed that Laxmii wants to use Aasif’s body to seek revenge from those people who grabbed her land and killed her. What starts is a comical journey of Aasif and Laxmii who soon unearth a dark secret.
