Main Azaad Hoon is a social political drama. A journalist named Subhashini (Shabana Azmi) is known for being bold and honest in her articles about corrupt politicians. Subhashini realizes that she is on the edge to lose her job, and thus creates a fictional story about a man named Azaad, who is against corruption, and in his name she writes about the ills of the present day society. As the column gets more and more popular, the questions of his real identity arise, and Subhashini brings in a jobless man (Amitabh Bachchan), who agrees to pose as Azaad. However, things take a turn when people start to see Azaad as their messiah. Will Azaad be able to take the moral pressure, and in real rise as their savior and save them from corrupt officers and politicians?
