Mimi is a comedy-drama that is loosely based on the Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy! released in 2011. The story is about Mimi (Kriti Sanon) a young girl from a small town who makes a living by performing at dance shows to support her family and aspires to become a Bollywood actress. Mimi is approached by an American couple to become a surrogate mother for which she’s promised a good amount. In order to realize her Bollywood dream, she accepts the offer. To keep her surrogacy a secret she hides the fact from her parents but things turn worse when the American couple back out of the agreement leaving Mimi in distress. What does Mimi do, does she keep the child or aborts it?
