Mukti Bhawan is a social comedy-drama. The movie follows the story of a father-son duo. A 77-year-old man, Daya (Lalit Behl) wishes to spend his last days in Varanasi to attain salvation and forces his son, Rajiv (Adil Hussain) to take him to Varanasi. Rajiv, reluctantly, takes his father to Varanasi leaving his wife and daughter behind. The two check-ins at Mukti Bhawan, a hotel for people who wish to spend their last days in Varanasi. Rajiv struggles to take care of his father there but Daya doesn’t show any signs of dying. Rajiv is in dilemma whether or not to leave his father alone in Mukti Bhawan to return to his family.
