Nache Mayuri is a biographical dance film, and a remake of Telugu film, Mayuri (1984), based on the life of actor and classical Bharatnatyam dancer Sudha Chandran. Mayuri (Sudha Chandran), loses her leg in an accident on her way to Chennai in June, 1981. However, she triumphs her fate and with the help of prosthetic leg, she commences dancing again. How Mayuri succeeds and gains fame for her dancing with the prosthetic leg forms the rest of the plot.
