Neeyat is a murder mystery drama set in one of the counties of Scotland where exiled billionaire Ashish Kapoor (Ram Kapoor) is celebrating his birthday party by inviting his close family and friends. All goes well until in a turn of events Ashish Kapoor is found murdered under mysterious circumstances. CBI officer Mira Rao (Vidya Balan) is called upon to investigate the murder case as all close family and friends at the party turn prime suspects. As twists follow turns and devious motives are revealed, CBI officer Mira Rao uses all her skill to unravel the mystery behind the murder while every suspect hides a secret or two.
