Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a humorous yet emotional tale of a man caught between love, friendship, and a web of misunderstandings. Prajapati Pandey (Ayushmann Khurrana), a forest officer based in Prayagraj, lives a peaceful life with his ambitious journalist wife Aparna (Wamiqa Gabbi). His closest friend and colleague is Nilofer Khan (Rakul Preet Singh). Prajapati’s life takes an unexpected turn when his former college friend Chanchal Kumari (Sara Ali Khan) seeks his help. Chanchal is secretly in love with Sudhanshu “Sunny” Tiwari (Vishal Vashishtha), the son of influential MLA Gajraj Tiwari (Tigmanshu Dhulia). Since Chanchal belongs to a lower caste, the couple hides their relationship from Sunny’s powerful family. Chaos erupts when a local newspaper publishes a photograph of Sunny alongside a burkha-clad Chanchal. Furious, Gajraj orders his men to identify the mysterious woman. As Sunny and Chanchal prepare to flee to Canada, they are forced to stay apart under constant surveillance. Desperate for a solution, Chanchal turns to Prajapati, who comes up with a risky plan — pretending to have an affair with her so the goons stop suspecting Sunny. However, the situation becomes even more complicated when Aparna reveals that she was the one who leaked the photograph and is now working with Gajraj in hopes of launching her own news channel. Unable to reveal the truth, Prajapati is trapped in a growing web of lies as he continues the fake affair with Chanchal. What begins as a harmless plan soon spirals into a series of comic misunderstandings and emotional consequences that change all their lives.
