Pehchaan is an action thriller drama. The movie opens to Yogi Shankar (Kiran Kumar), who is sentenced to seven years of jail by Judge Jagdish Verma (Raza Murad) for the charges of molestation. Though Yogi is innocent, he has to bear the punishment and he holds the Judge responsible for his condition. Once out of the jail, Yogi kidnaps Urmila (Beena Banerjee), Jagdish Verma’s wife, to take revenge. Yogi finds out that Urmila is pregnant and lets her deliver the baby, but she dies while giving birth. Urmila’s baby girl grow up as Tina (Madhoo), and Yogi makes her work as a prostitute. Years later, he informs Judge Jagdish, who is unaware of the existence of his daughter, about Tina and blackmails him. Will Yogi succeed in destroying the entire Verma family?
